Every single year during our management review I have to explain why we’re certified to ISO 45001 and not OHSAS 18001 anymore. Every year.
Finance director keeps referencing old tender documents that still ask for ‘OHSAS 18001 certification’ and I have to write a bloody clarification letter explaining the transition happened years ago and ISO 45001 is the successor standard.
I genuinely don’t know if this is a UAE procurement issue or if others deal with this too. Some government entities here still have outdated requirements in their vendor qualification forms and it creates so much unnecessary back and forth.
